The magic, spectacle and experience that is Back To The City has returned!

Many know this as the single biggest Hip Hop event on the African continent and the annual wait seems a tad bit too long, however the wait is finally over! The first Back To The City was in 2007 attracting over 3500 eager heads to Newtown for a gatherign that has established itself as a firm favourite. A short 6 years later and the event has grown to a mammoth crowd of 15 000 patrons (last year's figure - with this year the crowd targeted to grow to a massive 20 000 heads).
It is quite impossible to figure out exactly what it is that has made this THE Hip Hop event to be at for the year. Some have speculated that it is the fact that all the elements of Hip Hop are covered in abundance, from craaaaaaaaaaaaazy DJs to awe inspiring graffiti artists, from B-boys bringing that mad skillz to MCs that have been hungry for a hot minute to get on them mics! It wouldnt be a complete list of the elements without the most important element of them all, Knowledge, guess what? There is a whole Hip Hop summit dedicated to that element, with speakers like DJ C-Live and Tsholo (Gallo Records) ready to impart some knowledge to the heads in these streets.

Fans can expect a start studded line up in the name of Hip Hop, with artists like Siya Shezi, Flabba, Gingerbread Man, Ifani, H2O, Infa, Kwesta, Pitch Black Afro, Pro - Verb, Zuluboy, Zeus, Tumi, Okmalumkoolkat, BFG, Bhubesi and Revivolution blessing the mic! On the decks we can expect Kenzhero, Tha Cutt, KGB, ID, C-Live and a lot more. Just in case you thought that was all there's a R10k battle challenge and rthere will also be a beer garden for your leisure.

Tickets are easily available from R100 at the door and if you want presidential tickets (all access) you gotta fork out R180, if you want pre-sale tickets then you can cop them from OST Newtown, Dopestore CBD, Thesis Soweto or online via
